I have no belief that the UK Government might be influenced by public displays of outrage at the Israeli attack on the people of Gaza.
The latest offensive against Gaza coincides with the news that this country sells more arms and military communication systems to Israel, than to any other nation, and that this equipment is in use against civilians as in this attack. As a nation our business interests clearly take precedence over our principles.
As wars are increasingly fought by “shock and awe” in urban areas using remote controlled drones, rockets and artillery it is plain that the perpetrators accept that non-combatants, especially women and children, will make up the majority of victims.
Modern wars have become mutual terrorism. The Israel/Palestine conflict can never be resolved military, and we should not be supplying arms to perpetuate it.
